Adult Programs
Join one of our many adult programs....we offer a large variety of classes -- from Dog Obedience to Yoga.....
All of our other Adult Programs will resume in the Fall.
Dog Obedience:
Jane Metzger teaches dog obedience classes for dogs and their handlers. We offer classes for puppies and dogs. Please bring your dog, a 6 foot leash and collar. Wear comfortable clothing and rubber soled shoes. Also bring some goodies and your dog's favorite squeaky toy to class.
*Proof of Rabies and Parvovirus must be brought in on the first day of class.

Dance:
Our complete dance program is run by Mac Donald - Pin Dancers under the direction of Carrie Pin (BFA in Dance) providing technical dance training, exercise, coordination and sheer enjoyment for all who participate. For the Fall Schedule click HERE
Tap - Beginner and Advanced Tap for adults is a great workout and a lot of fun!
Ballroom - Interested pairs will learn the basics of the Cha Cha, Waltz, Rumba, Foxtrot and Swing in this fun 10-week course!

Kempo Karate:
Master Craigue has over 20 years
experience in the martial arts. Through his years of extensive study
and training he has achieved several black belts in Chinese Kempo,
American Kenpo and black sash in Chinese Kung Fu. As a
student progresses there are “belt advancement tests” and every Spring
a large regional tournament is hosted here at the Recreation Center.
Students will understand and use the martial arts in order to develop
self-discipline, self-control, and respect for others. Our unique style
of traditional martial arts training, cardio workouts, and stretching
techniques, allow individuals to gain the physical benefits and
confidence that is achieved through effective self-defense training.
Registration for this program is done monthly.

Pickleball:
Join us as we play this fun game with a net at 34 inches. It is played with a perforated plastic baseball (Similar to a whiffle ball) and wood or composite paddles. It is easy to learn for beginners, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced competitive game for experienced players. For adults 25 years and older.

The Workshop Instructors:
Judy Barniak, a competitive Pickleball player for 5 years, a former physical education teacher and a Gold Medal singles winner in her age division at this year’s Empire State Senior Games.
John Busch, a coach and multi-year pickleball player.
Tennis:
Instructor Jonathan Chase returns with his popular tennis programs for Adults. Classes meet once a week for one hour. Participants should bring a tennis racquet and water bottle and wear sneakers. Yoga:
Adult Yoga for all levels is specifically designed for awareness of one's spinal alignment, flexibility of joints, and strength of the entire muscular system. Purchase a 10-punch or 18-punch card from the front desk. Classes are held as follows:

Ridgefield "Out and About" Club:
The "Out and About" Club is open to all adults with special needs who are 18 years and older. The Club meets twice each month and offers a variety of activities. Fees vary depending on the particular activity. For more information about this unique program call Susan Bonistalli at the Ridgefield Recreation Center.
Wolfpit Running Club:
The Wolfpit Running Club, associated with Parks and Recreation conducts "club runs" every Saturday and Sunday throughout the year. Participants meet at the Parks and Recreation Yanity Gymnasium.
